Terms of use

Last updated 17 September 2026

These terms cover your use of PoulCheck, a poultry health screening, vet review and training service for farmers in Nigeria, delivered over WhatsApp and our website. By ticking the box in the app or using the service, you agree to them. Read them with our privacy notice, which explains what we do with your data.

What PoulCheck is, and what it is not

PoulCheck screens. It looks at the photo you send, reads it with our own system, and tells you what the birds could possibly be dealing with and what you can do in the pen today. That is a screening, not a diagnosis. Our system can be wrong, and a photo cannot replace a vet standing in your pen.

We do not prescribe. Our automated answer never names a drug, a dose or an injection. Treatment comes from a licensed veterinarian, either through a vet review or a vet call on PoulCheck, or from your own vet. If your birds are dying fast, get a vet on it today. PoulCheck is not an emergency service.

Who can use it

You need to be 18 or older and keeping birds in Nigeria, and the number you sign up with should be yours. Your WhatsApp number is your account. Anyone who can use that phone can see your cases, so treat it like your bank app.

Vets on PoulCheck

Vets who review cases on PoulCheck are licensed with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria. They are independent professionals working through our platform, not our employees, and the clinical opinion in a review or a call is theirs. We choose who joins, we check their licence, and we remove anyone who does not hold the standard. What a vet tells you is advice for your farm, and acting on it stays your decision.

Credits, plans and payments

Checks work on credits. A credit costs ₦100 when you buy it on its own, and the plans give you credits each month at a lower rate. A quick check is free and unmetered on the paid plans, with two a day on the free tier. A Deep Dive, a vet review and a vet call each cost a set number of credits, shown to you before you spend them.

Prices can change. We will tell you before a change touches your plan, and a change never applies to credits you have already bought.

Using it fairly

Send photos of your own birds. Do not send anything that is not poultry, do not upload someone else's photos as your own, and do not use PoulCheck to sell drugs, run a clinic under our name, or pass our answers off as a veterinary certificate. We can suspend an account that abuses the service, sends deliberately false cases, or tries to break into parts of the system that are not theirs.

Training and education

Courses and certificates on PoulCheck say that you completed our training. They are not a veterinary qualification and do not licence anyone to practise.

What we are responsible for

We work hard to keep PoulCheck accurate and available, and we will be straight with you when we get something wrong. What we cannot do is carry the risk of your flock. Decisions about your birds, including whether to treat, cull or call a vet, are yours. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for bird losses, lost income or other indirect loss that follows from using the service, and where we are liable our responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the problem. Nothing here removes a right you have under Nigerian law.

Stopping

You can stop using PoulCheck whenever you like. Send DELETE on WhatsApp and we will remove your data as described in the privacy notice. We can close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why.

Changes and law

If we change these terms we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app when the change matters. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
